So I'm still in-process of getting these mailed out....sorry if I ruined the suprise...I couldn't wait any longer!!
Thanks to my wonderful sis-in-law over at Britt-ish Designs, I made this card!!! Seriously! I am pretty proud of myself. I had to ask my sister if it was cute before I ordered them, however, because I wasn't sure if it really was cute, or if I just liked it b/c I had spent so much time looking at it lol.
Here's a little gem for ya:
This is over on the Free KSL classifieds in case you are looking for a pool table. ; )
Family Christmas party at Mutual Dell soon! I made sweet potatoes w/marshmallows! (hope it turns out better than the last time I tried making these..)

introducing.....
Ellie!!
just LOOK at that face!! |
So we had been talking (seriously and not so seriously) about adding another dog to our family.
We thought it would be fun to have "his and hers" dogs, and to let Obi have a friend. We also hoped that another dog would pressure Obi to eat his food better (anorexic dog over here).
We are suckers for the KSL classifieds and are always browsing either the pet section or the free section and emailing each other links.
Well my friends, that is where we found Ellie.
According to the ad, Ellie was 12 weeks old (we found out later she was actually 15 weeks). She was not living in the best situation and needed a good family to adopt her. I immediately fell in love with her (scotty was more interested in a german shephard or something like that) and wanted to go get her. We contacted the people who had her and got up saturday morning and drove to Tooele to get her :)
We think that she is a little bit afraid of the car b/c that is what took her away from the only place she had ever known, but she is pretty cool with it now. I think the family who had the puppies breed their dog and try to sell the puppies for Christmas $$, but it didn't work out so well for them this year and they just needed to get rid of the puppies before they got too old. If we could have, we would have taken home her brother, too (I think my sister almost went to get him, but he found a family).
APPARENTLY her dad was/is a champion dock jumper....which I totally believe, because you should see this little puppy jump! She is SO much more adventurous and hyper than Obi ever was at her age!
She is just as goofy though:
Ellie LOVES Obi, and I think he's a little embarassed to admit it, but Obi loves her too ;)
He is SO protective of her, but he does pick on her quite a bit. I think he really likes having a companion and constant playmate around. They are definitely besties!
Fortunately, we have an awesome landlord and an awesome house with an awesome yard for them to run around in and hopefully they will catch those darn gophers! The best is when we get back from the park, however and they are EXHAUSTED, so they just go lay down in their beds and sleep like good quiet puppies!
the trick is wearing them out, though :P |

relative finder
Here we go. This is my "look how awesome Audra's family is" post ;P
Here are all the REALLY COOL people I am somehow related to (according to facebook/BYU):
a few others include George Washington, Abe Lincoln, Richard Nixon, the Bush's, Joseph Smith, a lot of European royalty, GORDON B HINCKLEY, and a lot more WAY cool people. There are too many to name.
You should download the relative finder app on facebook and enter in your info. It is pretty darn awesome. Thanks Marci :)
I'm convincing scotty to log in so I can see his stuff. Hopefully my next post isn't how me and him are related! :/ weird. but its been known to happen.

We were in Midway, Utah getting ready to head to Provo to OUR apartment :) We still couldn't believe we were finally married and could barely remember the blur of a wedding that had just happened....
Happy 1 year anniversary! It's been great :) I'm going to share an excerpt of a paper I wrote for my religion class around our 6 month mark...followed by a few favorite pics of the last year...
(The scripture heading was part of the religion class assignment...this is the scripture I chose from our class to relate to my paper.)
As a side note, I should mention that half way through the "love journal" assignment, we went from writing down what I did for my spouse, to what my spouse did for me. It was a lot of fun and helps you realize how much we rely on each other.
What a great year :) I can't believe how fast it has gone and how much it feels like we have been married for 10 years!! Can't wait to see where it goes...
to quote my tweet from that night: "1 year done... an eternity to go! (literally!) :) xoxo @FeenerUT"

132:19; March 18-24:
And again, verily I say unto you, if a man amarry a wife by my word, which is my law, and by the new and beverlasting covenant, and it is csealed unto them by the Holy Spirit of dpromise, by him who is anointed, unto whom I have appointed this power and the ekeys of this priesthood; and it shall be said unto them—Ye shall come forth in the first resurrection; and if it be after the first resurrection, in the next resurrection; and shall inherit fthrones, kingdoms, principalities, and powers, dominions, all heights and depths—then shall it be written in the Lamb’s gBook of Life, that he shall commit no hmurder whereby to shed innocent iblood, and if ye abide in my covenant, and commit no murder whereby to shed innocent blood, it shall be done unto them in all things whatsoever my servant hath put upon them, in time, and through all eternity; and shall be of full force when they are out of the world; and they shall pass by the angels, and the gods, which are set there, to their jexaltation and glory in all things, as hath been sealed upon their heads, which glory shall be a fulness and a continuation of the kseeds forever and ever.

Marriage: the
experience of my life! I cannot tell you
how much I love being married. It is simply the best thing I’ve done thus
far in my life. Nothing can compare to
having that person in your life with whom you share everything; not only the
apartment, or your car, but dreams, fears, and frustrations.
A
lot of people tell you that the first year is the hardest and once you make it
past that year; you are good to go for the rest of your life. I’m here to say that if these last 6 months
have supposedly been a part of the hardest period we’ll face, then we’re going
to have a pretty amazing time and eternity together.
Now
I’m not saying by any means
that this has been a cake walk. There
are definitely arguments and frustrations, but it’s so different once you are
married. Arguments and such become
something to work on between the two of you, rather than a frustration that
could ultimately result in breaking up.
The
hardest adjustment I’ve had to make: changing my focus from “What’s best for
me?” to: “What’s best for us?” Before we got married, I had been in school
for three years focusing on getting my education and preparing
for my
future. Looking back, I can’t believe
how selfish I had let myself become!
Once upon a time, in a marriage prep class I took, I remember the
teacher suggesting we create a “Love Journal”.
The purpose was to write down each day how you showed your spouse you
love them. I am definitely not a very
good journal-keeper, but I am good at texting, and somewhat regular at
blogging. Using these self-proclaimed
strengths of mine, I decided to create a blog, just for me, where I could text
myself these “Love Journal” entries. The
best part about this system: it is completely private, something I will actually
do, and has become what I consider to be my regular journal. Nobody can access it without my permission
and I can even add pictures if I feel like it.
One
thing I really like about the love journal, is as I read each entry, I can go
back and reflect on the whole moment from that one snippet of my memory. I can
reflect on situations and see where I was being dumb and unreasonable; and, for
future reference learn how to handle these things better by learning from the
past. Not only does this help keep me in
perspective with my marriage, but I am keeping the most regular updated journal
of my life. I like to think of it as a
somewhat selfish way for me to learn how to be unselfish.
I included a few days from the "love journal" for ambiance:
March
18, 2010: I spent hours looking up coupons and
preparing to go grocery shopping. We
have a pretty strict budget we try to stick to and I wanted to make sure we
were getting the biggest bang for our buck.
March
19, 2010: I went in to his
family party alone while he prepared his grandpa’s birthday present. This is a big deal for me because I am super
shy, still meeting family members, and still trying to remember everybody’s
names whom I have met before.
March
22, 2010: I cleaned up the
apartment so his Air Force friend could come over and prep for this weekend’s
dinner. I then let them defile my Magic
Bullet with crazy foods for their assignment to create the “grog” of said
dinner.
March
23, 2010: I picked up some dinner on my way home from SLC from his
favorite place: In ‘n Out. Apparently
they are open until 1 a.m.?
March
24, 2010: I cancelled all my morning plans to go watch an Air Force
parade in the COLD weather and even after we had a pretty big argument I stayed to
support him at the ceremony afterwards where he was awarded two ribbons.
He made me a really yummy lunch while I
was at class to help ease the tension from previously mentioned
argument.

UPDATE!
All of the posts on this blog should be titled "update" :)
I swear I only post on average once every full moon :P
Anywho, after reading the (semi-whiny) vegan-ese post, you are probably wondering how we are doing in that aspect, aren't you??
Well, I am happy to report that we are eating less meat at home (everywhere else hasn't really happened yet), and have DRASTICALLY increased our vegetable intake. I made a pretty big decision to go with the CSA I was looking at and we have been enjoying LOTS of yummy heirloom tomatoes, string beans, kale, cabbage, brocolli, squash, zuchhini, other wierd looking squash thingys that I need to figure out how to cook, etc.
probably some of the biggest news we have to share is that we moved into a HOUSE!
oh, and we have a puppy. No biggie. ;)
His name is Obi-Wan Kenobi XXXI
I am super surprised I haven't posted anything about him until now on the blog, but I will make up for it now with a bajillion photographs (the husband is literally incapable of not taking pictures of the puppy lol, but he isn't here with his phone so....I'm just posting pics from mine :)
Funny story/tangent: Obi was sitting on the couch with me today while I finally watched the season premier of Glee and he started stretching...there were some dishes on the side of the couch and he honestly didn't mean to, but he knocked them off onto the floor! Fortunately, nothing broke, and it really scared him...but it was still kind of cute and hilarious all at the same time!
In case you were wondering, the husband IS still doing AF ROTC; he is also working on his Computer Science degree, participating in 3 intramural sports, and lots of other amazing stuff. He rocks.
I think that pretty much sums it up for now! I am struggling through calculus, hoping I can make it through the math that will allow me to finish the degree I want! Bring it, math!
